LAVA – UTS Tower Skin

The UTS Tower Skin is an unprecedented step in innovative renovation of existing structures. ‘Re-skinning’ the towering, brutalist building is a concept incorporating natural ventilation and daylighting studies, solar investigations and computational fluid dynamics for the impacts of stack effect.


Its design peacefully, and efficiently integrates the ageing structure into the surrounding, rapidly modernising cityscape, and maximizes the occupant experience while minimizing its environmental impact.
